Legion Pulse Stim-Free Review

The same actives as Pulse with the caffeine removed. Why that is the right choice more often than most lifters think.

Updated 2026-08-29Independent review
The verdict

The formula that makes sense if you train after work. You keep the citrulline and beta-alanine and you keep your sleep, which is the bigger training variable.

The trade nobody does honestly

Caffeine is the strongest acute performance ingredient available, and removing it does cost you something in the session. But caffeine has a five to six hour half-life, and a 350 mg dose at 6 pm still leaves meaningful stimulant in your system at midnight. Sleep drives adaptation more than any single session does. Trading a slightly better workout for a worse night is a bad trade repeated four times a week.

What you keep

Everything except the stimulant. Citrulline malate at 8 g, which is the dose used in the training-volume studies. Beta-alanine at 3.6 g. Betaine and alpha-GPC. The pump and endurance side of the formula is untouched — it is the alertness you give up.

Who this is genuinely for

Evening trainers, anyone who metabolises caffeine slowly, and anyone who already drinks coffee during the day and does not want another 350 mg on top. It is also the sensible choice if you want to keep caffeine as a tool for the sessions that matter rather than a daily habit that you build tolerance to.

Who it is for

Buy it if
  • You train in the evening
  • You are caffeine-sensitive, anxious on stimulants, or sleep poorly
  • You already get caffeine from coffee and do not want more
Skip it if
  • You train early and want the alertness
  • You are buying a pre-workout mainly for the energy — this is not that

Questions

Will it feel like nothing without caffeine?
It will feel different. The pump and endurance effects remain; the buzz does not. Many people read the buzz as the product working, which is worth being honest about.
Can I add my own caffeine?
Yes, and that is the flexible approach: use the stim-free base daily and add caffeine only on the sessions where you want it.
How late is too late for caffeine?
As a rule of thumb, avoid it within six to eight hours of bed. Slow metabolisers need more.
