Legion Triton Review
Fish oil is one of the few supplements where the dose on the front of the bottle rarely matches the dose that matters. Here is how to read the label.
A high-dose, triglyceride-form fish oil with the EPA and DHA stated plainly. In a category built on misleading front labels, that is the whole point.

The label trick in this category
Most fish oil bottles advertise grams of fish oil, not grams of EPA and DHA. A 1,000 mg softgel commonly contains only about 300 mg of the two omega-3s that the research is actually about. That is how a bottle claiming a large dose can deliver a fraction of it. Read the EPA and DHA line, always.
Triglyceride versus ethyl ester
Cheap fish oil is usually the ethyl ester form, which is what you get after the oil is concentrated. The triglyceride form is converted back, which costs more and is somewhat better absorbed. The difference is real but modest — it does not change whether omega-3s work, only how much of a given dose you take up.
What omega-3s actually do, and do not do
The strongest evidence is for triglyceride lowering at higher doses, and there is reasonable support for joint discomfort and mood. The muscle-building case is weak. Buy fish oil for cardiovascular and general health reasons, not as a training supplement.
Who it is for
- You eat little or no oily fish
- You want the EPA and DHA dose stated rather than buried
- You want testing for heavy metals, which matters in this category
- You eat oily fish two or three times a week already
- You are buying it to build muscle. That is not what the evidence supports
